Hello, as you may have heard, there's a sequel to the hit Playstation Network title in the making, called Söldner-X 2 - Final Prototype, again to be released on Playstation3.

Once more, I am composing and producing all music for this great arcade-style shmup for developer Sidequest Studios, with some additional audio engineering too. Currently, the audio looks to encompass around 30 tracks, a lot more than the predecessor. The game itself will feature 1080p graphics, new ships to play with, 7 worlds, new weapons and bullets patterns, new game mechanics like limit attacks, replay sharing, hi-score ranks online and much more.

Here are some snippets from the publisher's official eastasiasoft press release:

"eastasiasoft, Hong Kong based publisher of interactive entertainment and
developer SideQuest Studios are excited to announce Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype. The sequel to the popular shoot 'em up game is guaranteed to deliver another fantastic fast-paced arcade-style experience and will be one
of the must-have downloadable action titles on the PlayStation®Network coming Winter 09/10.

In Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype, you will return to Gota IV as part of the Söldner-X defense force. Mankind will once more rely on your battle against new mysterious powers. Staged across seven unique action-loaded levels
accompanied with an adrenaline pumping soundtrack, Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype combines traditional 2D gameplay with detailed high definition graphics and a taste of fresh innovations.
“We received an amazing feedback upon the launch of Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer, which has encouraged the whole team to work on a sequel”, said Marcus Pukropski, CEO of SideQuest Studios. “With Söldner-X 2, our
main goal is to please fans of the first part as well as new gamers alike. I am especially excited about the introduction of a new dynamic score-linked difficulty mode, which adjusts to the skills of each individual
player.”
(...)
Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype is currently in development exclusively for the PLAYSTATION®3 system with an
anticipated release coming Winter 09/10. More details are bound to be made public in the near future."

Hello friends and music fans,

Since I can't always answer all mails, but do enjoy talking to game music fans, I am happy to announce the availability of a discussion forum for all things related to my music productions and game compositions.

After the releases of Last Hope and Söldner-X over the last 2 years, things were quite busy for me, setting up my workplace and business (distracting paperwork, I can tell you) for future projects. At the moment, I am working hard on a new game - which I can't disclose just yet - but there will be more things to look forward to over the next months (and well into 2010), including some previews and shots of my current studio environment. It's where them tracks happen, you know. Plus, after visiting the GamesCom in Cologne a few days ago, there are some interesting opportunities for me ahead and I hope to be able to share them with you soon.

It's all very exciting and I am looking forward to it!
